A Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) qualification shows the world that you have mastered English to an exceptional level. It proves you can communicate with the fluency and sophistication of a highly competent English speaker.
My main research question was: "How can speech recording and processing, using a smartwatch, speed up the administrative work of teachers?". I built a system consisting of a smartwatch, smartphone and server application named 'Dictee'.
I was responsible for all communication with (potential) partners and sponsors. I organized all external events such as networking events. While I was in function, I managed to get four new companies to sponsor the association, and the association gained many partners.
I was responsible for all communication between the association and university. I also organized all internal events such as monthly drinks. While I was in function, I significantly improved the Social Media presence of the association.
I developed a library for Heurist, which visualizes the internal database structure of Archeologists their projects. I also created a tool to dump all records and related images to a zip-file. During my internship I passed the Cambridge Proficiency in English test (Level C2).
I worked on three different projects during a two-week internship at UWS. I created a new tool based on three existing projects. I tracked the hashtag #AppreciateAMate on multiple social media channels. I created a prototype Android app which tracks your location using beacons.
I worked on the FAIMS Android app during a two-week internship at UNSW. I performed usability tests and gave advice on improvements. I improved the export function of Heurist to use the data in the FAIMS app.
I developed the Fiets Fanaat app after winning the IIPIC Mobility competition. The goal of the app is to influence the behavior of people in such a way that they travel to work by bicycle instead of by car. All trips are tracked and people are offered incentives for travelling by bike.
